Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe sheds its camo

Sleek, powerful, and gigantic.

What you’re looking at here is the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, and it is undoubtedly gigantic. It’s meant to be a replacement for the outgoing CL-Class Coupe, and—let’s be honest—the car looks pretty good from just about every angle. You’ll have to ignore the uncharacteristically small wheels, though, which I’m guessing are only there to accommodate the winter tires. It’s wide, imposing, and more angular than the CL, and its muscular stance helps it fit in nicely as a smaller sibling to the S65 AMG.
Powering the new coupe will be the same 449 hp 4.6-liter bi-turbo V8 that can be found in the S-Class Sedan. That’s enough to get the hulking sedan from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, so I’d expect the coupe to be in the ballpark, if not a little quicker. If that’s not enough schnell, however, there is always the AMG option in sedan or coupe form. The CL is priced around $116K, and you can plan for the S-Class Coupe to reach into six figures, as well. If you’re interested, keep an eye out for fully camo-less photos in the near future, and watch for the S-Class Coupe to be in dealerships around mid-2014.
